How to choose the wattage of LED street lights?

Street light projects, including street light renovation projects such as urban main roads, industrial parks, towns, and viaducts, how should contractors, enterprises, and owners choose the wattage of street lights?

Generally speaking, when you buy street lights from street light manufacturers, professional technicians will design street light renovation plans for you. The technicians and salesmen of our street light manufacturers have rich experience in street light engineering applications. The following methods are for reference only:

Test area

The test road is 15 meters wide, the led street light is 10 meters high, the 1 meter elevation angle on the lamp arm is 10 degrees, and the street light is tested on one side; the test area is 15mx30m. Considering that narrow roads do not require high lateral light distribution of street lights, data of the application area of 12mx30m is provided for reference and selection of roads of different widths.

Test data

The data is the average of three times, and the light decay is calculated based on the first and third results. The time span is 100 days, and the lights are turned on and off normally every day.

Lamp optical design

LED is small in size and can emit light in a directional manner on a semi-plane. It can be approximately regarded as a point light source when designing lamps. It is very suitable for optical design using lenses or reflectors to obtain relatively ideal light distribution and achieve higher lamp efficiency.

Application of luminous flux, luminous efficiency, and illumination uniformity evaluation

The calculation formula for luminous flux is average illumination x area

Illuminance uniformity is the ratio of the minimum illumination and the maximum illumination of the measuring point in the horizontal direction of the road

In the application of street lamp engineering, how many wattage street lamps should be installed on the road should be combined with the manufacturer's street lamp effect. On the same road, the 100W LED street lamp provided by manufacturer A can meet the lighting requirements, while the street lamp provided by manufacturer B may only need 80W or even lower wattage to meet the lighting requirements.
